Lies or Truth?

There’s no middle ground. Christianity is either the greatest lie ever told in the history of the world, or Christ’s resurrection and the Christian’s hope of resurrection are the greatest hope in, and beyond, this world.

Standing at the tent of a graveside funeral today, I thought about the comfort that can be given to a Christian grieving the passing of another Christian. Lies are bad. Repeated lies are very bad. Repeating lies you know are lies to help people in the darkest days of their lives is very, very bad. So, if Christianity is false then think of how evil for people for thousands of years to give hope where there is no hope. But, since Christianity is true, think of how many people have experienced hope in the most hopeless times of their lives. One day, the enemy death will be defeated. There will be more death. Liars will not enter. And the enemy of death that tells hurting people lies such as “this is the end, that’s all there is, there’s nothing after this life…” will never be heard again. “O death, where is thy victory?” Hope wins.
