Think of the things a father and mother will do so that their sons or daughters can get a gift that will be enjoyed for a relatively short time, then eventually forgotten…
Now, imagine a giving Father and the sacrificial pains his Son would go through so that their sons and daughters could enjoy a gift that will last for eternity and never be forgotten.
So, remember that God put earthly enjoyments here so that when we see the tiniest glimpse of childlike joy in a kid’s eyes (and the tiniest glimpse of happiness in a father’s heart), it would point us to the pleasure God enjoys as he give us his kingdom, his Son, and himself.
Christians, never forget that God loves you more than you could ever imagine.
