This little screenshot might not look like much, but it’s an unsolicited shoutout to the Things app. Contrary to my own good sense, a few days ago my stress and accompanying symptoms were again getting close to through the roof. Much of today in my office and another couple hours tonight with Rachael was spent adding and reviewing a couple hundred tasks in these items so that everything needing done in the next few weeks is organized, dated, deadlined, and tagged.
I say this sorta light-hearted but somewhat serious with an appreciation for the Lord’s goodness in areas some would call “secular” or nonspiritual: I’ll make it by the grace of God, a good wife, a productivity suggestion a few years ago now from Melton Duncan, and putting this app on every electronic device I own. When I get to heaven, I think I’ll be able to sincerely tell Jesus thank you for a MacBook with Logos, Ulysses, and Things.
You often hear Christians say, “Don’t be guilty of idolatry by being more thankful for the gifts than you are the Giver.” True, but also remember: Don’t be guilty of unthankfulness by never telling the Giver that you’re thankful for his gifts.
